A black belt is a milestone in every martial art. Also in Nunchaku-do.

The road to a black belt (1st dan) is different for every Nunchaku-ka, although there is one key-word: training!

On the way to the black belt, one must first reach the kyu degrees (5th to the 1st kyu).

This is possible at the gym where the Nunchaku-ka, directed by a qualified WNA teacher, trains.
The Nunchaku teacher is allowed to take the exams himself up to and including brown belt (1st kyu).

A Nunchaku-ka that goes up for the black belt (1st dan) has to take an exam in front of the National Graduation Committee (NGC) of the WNA. Exams can also be taken online and will be assessed by the National Graduation Committee.
